On November 19, 2015, the Carpatho-Rusyn news outlet lem.fm published a story on the Kubek project and the West End Walking Tour. Its author, Damian Trochanowski , writes:
In the Old World, we know little about the remarkable Rusyns who left Carpathian Rus’ and went across the ocean not “for bread” but for the sake of their people in order to help them, serve them, and be their moral rudder. One of these individuals was Father Emil Kubek (1857-1940), a Greek Catholic priest, writer, author . […] His greatness was studied by Nick Kupensky, a doctoral student at Yale University, one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, who through a grant from Bucknell University is leading a project entitled The Emil Kubek Project that is strengthening the memory of the great Rusyn.
